Thanks for the bug report. I'm currently communicating with upstream and hopefully they will make a new release soon to be included before the freeze. It's been 2 years since their last release. They will incorporate some of our patches (or equivalent fixes), as well as remove some of the embedded libraries. I will stay on top of it, and upload a new revision if they don't produce a release within a few weeks. So nobody needs to spend time NMUing or producing patches, please let me know if it becomes urgent that I fix this FTBFS for some reason.
