If you move your xorg.conf aside, * does aticonfig produce a working xorg.conf? * does amdcccle produce a working xorg.conf? How do these configs look like? What was the "input" xorg.conf to amdcccle and how did the faulty xorg.conf look like? Does the faulty xorg.conf (i.e. with some duplicate sections) work with the vesa or radeon drivers?
