For what it's worth it did build successfully in Ubuntu Precise on Launchpad.

It suffices to just do: === debian/python-mpi4py.install === usr/lib/python2*/*-packages/* === debian/python3-mpi4py.install === usr/lib/python3*/*-packages/* I've rebuilt the packages, confirmed with debdiff that there were no changes and pushed to Github.
