Python2.4 recommends the packages python2.4-iconvcodec, python2.4-japanese-codecs and python2.4-korean-codecs, however these packages do not exist.
I seem to vaguely remember the CJK codecs being folded into the core python package for python 2.4, so that could explain why these packages don't exist...
