Package: python-dolfin Version: 1.0.0-6 Severity: normal Hi!
The example vcp2D.py from the tutorial: http://fenicsproject.org/documentation/tutorial/ in the tarball: http://fenicsproject.org/_static/tutorial/fenics_tutorial_examples.tar.gz fails with: Traceback (most recent call last): File "vcp2D.py", line 20, in <module> V = FunctionSpace(mesh, 'Lagrange', 1) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dolfin/functions/functionspace.py", line 353, in __init__ FunctionSpaceBase.__init__(self, mesh, element) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dolfin/functions/functionspace.py", line 77, in __init__ ufc_element, ufc_dofmap = jit(self._ufl_element) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dolfin/compilemodules/jit.py", line 66, in mpi_jit return local_jit(*args, **kwargs) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dolfin/compilemodules/jit.py", line 114, in jit """%cpp.__swigversion__ OSError: PyDOLFIN was not compiled with the present version of swig. Install swig version 2.0.5 or recompiled PyDOLFIN with present swig I have run it with and without the *.xml parameter file present. I think the swig version is supposed to be autodetected when running without the *.xml file, but the error message above seems to indicate an incompatibility between dolfin and swig, no? So perhaps some recompiled versions are needed in Debian?
