By coincidence I noticed the .pc is installed into a path with
"pkgconfig" duplicated, for example
libpopt-dev:amd64: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig/pkgconfig/popt.pc
libpopt-dev:i386: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkgconfig/pkgconfig/popt.pc
I have no idea if this is plain cosmetic, or if this might cause
breakage when the least expected. In the first case, feel free to
ignore this.
