I can confirm that this issue is back after upgrading to libcairo2 1.12 I tested in both unstable and testing, AMD64, NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [GeForce G210M] (rev a2) The issue is most notable in Chrome/Chromium (all versions from 18 to 21) when using more than 3 tabs. Switching, opening and closing tabs becomes incredibly slow and uses vast amounts of CPU time.
I have not yet tried the patch as I have no clue where to find it. Could someone please provide information on how to apply this patch? Also, is the package maintainer planning on bringing a patched version to the repos? -- Jarn Vermote
