The dpkg-maintscript-helper package says you need a pre-depends on dpkg
1.15.7.2 or newer. As this is from before squeeze, I suspected that this note
was no longer current. If that's not the case, feel free to close this bug. It
was just meant as a gentle reminder.

But maybe you still want to keep it for older systems with older dpkg (ubuntu
still has some supported releases with older dpkg).

Not that I know of. I just saw the note in the postinst while looking for an
example to see how dpkg-maintscript-helper could be used. The git package is
working fine. Thanks for maintaining it!
