Mysql-5.5 a would-be FTBS on the i386 and kfreebsd-386 platforms (but
the relevant tests are disabled). We are not at all happy about
disabling those tests as they suggests issues with SSL connections.
However some evidence has emerged that compiling with gcc-4.5 would be a
work around whilst oracle deal with the issue. All the code that is
breaking is highly optmized code.
According to http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-amd64@lists.debian.org/msg27307.html
the gcc team are planning to keep 4.4 arround for wheezy, have you tried
building with that?

Also in the post to debian-release you identified another possible fix
(using TAOCRYPT_DISABLE_X86ASM) do you know how significant
the performance cost of that option is?
