Isn't that worth documenting? When the novice has been told to set such-and-such in her wpa_supplicant.conf, wouldn't it help her to know that the name "wpa_supplicant.conf" is just a placeholder and she needs to look at the -c option passed to wpa_supplicant to find out what the real file to edit is?
