Hi Raphaƫl,
I've just finished reading chapter 8: here's the usual list of proposed
modifications, grouped by relevant section.

Section 8.1.1. Seing the Default Language
-----------------------------------------

| representationfor

Typo? s/representationfor/representation for/

Section 8.1.3. Migrating to UTF-8
---------------------------------

| all over the world over

I am not sure whether this is a typo: maybe s/world over/world/ ?

Section 8.2. Configuring the Network
------------------------------------

| e is the name of the bits affected by the network part

Typo? s/the name of/the number of/

Section 8.2.3.1. Modems Supporting PPPOE
----------------------------------------

| Since they are not billed according to time,

Well, this is not always true: at least down here, in Italy,
some providers also offer ADSL connections that are billed
on a time basis (sad, but true...).
Hence, for generalility's sake, I would rephrase the above
sentence as follows:

+ Since in most cases they are not billed according to time,

Section 8.2.4. Automatic Network Configuration for Roaming Users
----------------------------------------------------------------

I think that another alternative to be mentioned in the "Alternative"
box is wicd: it's similar to Network Manager, but more desktop-agnostic
and more lightweight (with less dependencies).

Section 8.4.5. Group List: /etc/group
-------------------------------------

| The groupadd and groupdel commands add or delete a group, respectively.

Why not suggest the higher level addgroup and delgroup commands?

Section 8.5. Creating Accounts
------------------------------

| (see sidebar "Peripheral access permissions").

I think it is actually titled "Device access permissions" ...

Section 8.8.1. Identifying the Disks
------------------------------------

| of the the first

Repeated word: s/the the/the/

Sections 8.9.2.1. For Workstations and 8.9.2.2. For Servers
-----------------------------------------------------------

Another interesting package that could be suggested (for both
workstations and servers) is chrony.

Section 8.11.1. Features of a Debian Kernel Package
---------------------------------------------------

| The symbols table table helps

Repetition: s/table table/table/

| an "oops" is the kernel equivalent in the kernel of a segmentation fault
| for user space programs

Repetition: s/the kernel equivalent in the kernel/the kernel equivalent/
