Christoph and Guido has done some rework für icedove icons some time ago. So maybe your bug can be closed? Or are there some further improvements you wish? For me icedove in squeeze(-backports) and wheezy work fine under KDE even with the actual icons. So I add a fixed tag to squeeze and wheezy.
