Package: libxaw3dxft6 Version: 2.9.1.4-3+b2 Severity: normal
When libXaw3d was available, it was possible to do LD_PRELOAD=libXaw3d.so athena_widget_program and see the athena_widget_program with 3d widgets. The fonts displayed in the windows were those specified either via the command line parameters or X resources. With the replacement of libXawd3d by libXawd3dxft6, and using the same preload method, the Athena widget program does indeed display with 3d widgets but where text is displayed eg on a button or in a text widget, the font used is all the same size medium sans font and not the one specified by the command line parameter or in the X resources. Changing the font specification from the old X11 font string to xft:freetype_name just results in an error message that the string cannot be converted to a font. The sample applications used for these tests were xconsole and xmessage. So is this a bug, or do the fonts to be used now have to be specified in a new form in the X resources file? -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libxaw3dxft6 depends on: ii libc6 2.13-33 ii libice6 2:1.0.8-2 ii libsm6 2:1.2.1-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.4.99.901-2 ii libxext6 2:1.3.1-2 ii libxft2 2.2.0-3 ii libxmu6 2:1.1.1-1 ii libxpm4 1:3.5.10-1 ii libxt6 1:1.1.3-1 libxaw3dxft6 recommends no packages. libxaw3dxft6 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
