Even much better :-D

Personally I'm a bit unsure about these apache.confs included in /etc/somwhere

I've already opened several bugs against icinga-cgi, where I suggested Alexander to move them to some /u/s/d/*/examples/ .. but I'm no longer sure myself whether this is exactly what I like.

The things are:
1) apache config snippets may not be used at all, e.g. because one has one's own configuration (e.g. with SSL or whatever) or many other reasons. Or one may simply use another webserver. In these cases the files are not really (used) configuration anymore and shouldn't be in /etc.

2) OTOH, especially when one adapts the config from such an apache config file to one's own configuration (be it using Apache or another webserver), one probably want's to get "notified" about changes to these example files (e.g. when new patterns or directories are added to Aliases or so). That's easy when the files are configuration (even if unused) files in /etc, but not when in some /u/s/d/ location.

So I don't have a "perfect" solution for that right now... have you an idea?

Perhaps a first good start would be to ask via debconf, whether webserver-xyz config should be installed and if so, place it in /etc/ and if not, have it only in /u/s/d/*/examples

But obviously all this is rather cosmetic and perfectionism.

Cheers,
Chris.
