This seems to be the problem. tircd should have a built-in default of auto_post=1 (backward-compatible) in case the configuration file doesn't define it. Although /etc/tircd.cfg did get upgraded because I never modified it, I ~/.tircd obviously did not - and I forgot to look there previously, so I wrongly told you that auto_post was enabled. > Can you still reproduce this issue?
