Hello Liam,

as I can see you try to run icedove with -g to start the debugger.
That's the correct way, but gbd remainds that he have not found any
debugging symbols. That's bad.
But before this, have you tried to start icedove without any extensions
and/or with a clean profile?

Is your system a installed system from scratch or did you make one or
mor dist-upgrade from a previos debian version?

^^^ without debugging symbols the log does'nt help much, unfourtunately
If you have to make a logfile please visit
http://wiki.debian.org/Icedove#Debugging
to make a full log of all icedove activities.
