Please excuse me for all the noize I just did.
I tried to unmerge the two bugs, but it didn't
work right. Hopefully I restored everything
back.

But the thing is: #679686 has NOT been fixed.
Instead, now the package FTBFS on almost all
arches -- see the QA page (*) and the build
logs linked from there.

Apparently symvers is quite a bit tricky to
do for a C++ library. So I guess only the
shlibs file should be enough for now, before
there's a good and easy to use and understand
mechanism to manage C++ symbols and their
versions.

I'm sorry for that -- I didn't even know it
is C++, hence I suggested symvers.

Thank you for the patience!

/mjt
