Apparently I have the same problem. However, I've notice that timidity shutdown process is labeled "ok" *before* the 20-30 second stop. In my setup, the shutdown of timidity is followed by the shutdown of VirtualBox net services; I'm wondering if the problem is in these services, rather that in timidity...
