The sawfish package does not currently depend on libxinerama in any way. This means that the currently-available package from debian.org has probably been built without xinerama support. By just obtaining the source locally and rebuilding, where libxinerama-dev is installed, I manage to fix some xinerama-related bugs, where xinerama was being ignored.
