I have the same problem on 2 notebooks. $ dmesg | grep segfault [18359.397589] gnome-shell[4048]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fd7f7e356c9 sp 00007fffa1f913b8 error 4 in libgio-2.0.so.0.3200.3[7fd7f7dfe000+14b000]
In my case I have this problem only coming out of a suspend. gnome-shell is restarted and all my opened windows are stacked on the first virtual desktop. No idea about the fix though.
