Hello Daniel, this error seems not to triggered by icedove itself. You can install the icedove-dbg package an make es log of the icedove process to be clear. Also you can make a strace log.
Please disable any extension to exclude some sideeffects. See http://wiki.debian.org/Icedove#Debugging for details. Did this error happen only on with this mail? If yes can you provide this mail? Or did this happen also on other applications?
