I cannot boot 3.6-rc5 (and some later) kernels. It blocks the kernel at very
beginning (uncompress?)

  - does this mean, that earlier kernels built with -8 work ok?

I don't know. I tested -8 only on new kernels.

dpkg -i *_4.7.1-7_* on /var/cache/apt/archives/ solved my problems.

Reproducible (but not very debuggable).

  - architecture, optimization flags?
  - how is the build reproducible?

amd64.
Standard vanilla kernels from git. No special flags.

Reproducible: I tried a some kernels with old and new compiler (yes: I started to git bisect the kernel). With old compiler I have bootable kernel, with new compiler the kernel block at very beginning.

So if you have a hint about what patch should I remove/apply, I could check if it solve the problem.
