Dear Ftpmasters and Release Team,

please remove blockade from all suites, given its in doubt whether this
program can be distributed by Debian. The package's copyright file
leaves more questions than answers.

In short:

*) substantial portions of this package are of unknown ownership:

The bitmaps found in blockade-pix.c are my work, but they were designed
to mimic reasonably closely the overall look of the analogous bitmaps
used in the Macintosh game. Exactly who owns the rights to those is
unclear to me and probably depends on jurisdiction - but see the last
 paragraph of this file.

Here, the upstream author grants permission to use and distribute his
work, but it is unclear and in doubt whether he's allowed to do so if all.

*) In parts, it uses genuine work originating from a Macintosh version
of blockade, where uptream claims to have permission to use (but not to
redistribute, or allow others [us] to redistribute) these parts:

The Macintosh version claims to have been written by Christer Ericson,
and provided a contact address (chris...@cs.umu.se). I wrote to that
address, asking permission to write an X version; the reply granted
permission, and gave permission to use the built-in scenes from the Mac
version provided I credited the scene designers.

Of course, the package may be introduced anytime later again if the
copyright situation is not in question anymore.
