Package: libatlas3-base Version: 3.8.4-9 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
Matrix multiplication fails with an illegal instruction for matricies larger than 51x51. The python script detect_cpu_extensions (http://projects.scipy.org/scipy/attachment/ticket/1170/detect_cpu_extensions) reports use of 3dnow, which my CPU does not support. See following simple program to replicate the problem, detect_cpu_extensions output, gdb output, and /proc/cpuinfo. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.6.2ghasthawk-custom-1 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libatlas3-base depends on: ii libc6 2.13-35 ii libgcc1 1:4.7.2-4 ii libgfortran3 4.7.2-4 libatlas3-base recommends no packages.
