Package: openssl Version: 1.0.1c-4 Severity: minor Dear Maintainer,
The manpage for s_client claims that currently, the only supported keywords for -starttls are "smtp", "pop3", "imap", and "ftp". But since "xmpp" works perfectly, I suppose ther might be even more supported protocols ? * What led up to the situation? debugging ssl connections to my jabber server * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? read the manpage of s_client and thought "-starttls xmpp" was not supported. * What was the outcome of this action? googling, searching and trying. Realizing it actually was supported * What outcome did you expect instead? Reading the manpage and knowing the capabilities -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (670, 'testing'), (650, 'unstable'), (600, 'experimental'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages openssl depends on: ii libc6 2.13-35 ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.1c-4 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.7.dfsg-13 openssl recommends no packages.
