I'm sorry, but I couldn't reproduce this on a Squeeze Dom0 after
creating a Squeeze DomU with neither xen-tools 4.2-1 nor with 4.3.1-1.
Any idea what could be special in your setup? Is serial_device set
somewhere manually? Does for some reason /etc/inittab in the DomU have
no line ending in "tty1"? Is there a getty line for tty1, but with
additional options or parameters behind the "tty1"?
I currently suspect the following line from 30-disable-gettys,
especially the last -e parameter to be the culprit:
[ -f ${prefix}/etc/inittab ] && sed -i -e 's/^\([2-6].*:respawn*\)/#\1/' -e
's/^T/#\t/' -e 's/tty1$/hvc0/' ${prefix}/etc/inittab
If that's really the culprit, I though would be curious why it doesn't
match in your case.
Nevertheless, that line has some quirks which could need some
improvements anyway. :-)
