Yes, partway through the scan.

An example:

1) at the command-line, type 

klinkstatus 

2) in the URL: field, type:

www.wired.com

3) Click on the Check button. 

4) Right after #3, go to the File->Quit using the mouse

I tried alternatives ways (only using the keyboard for example) and I'm
able to reproduce this every time - in fact, I'm unable to figure out a
way to exit it partway without it crashing!

I have a P3 at home and a P4 at work.

Maybe there is a dependant software that is not present?
