Dear GDB maintainer (and gcc-snapshot maintainer)
I hope you are doing well :-)
GCC 4.8 (see gcc-snapshot) defaults to writing DWARF 4 debug info
by default. As a user of gcc-snapshot, I thought that gcc 4.8 was
broken, until I realized that gcc-7.4 loads the DWARF 4 info without any
error messages, but then cannot read it. I just get a lot of messages
like 'No symbol "a" in current context.' But of course, there actually
IS such a symbol.
Since I'm using gcc-snapshot, gdb 7.5 would be a great help! I
don't know if its easier to make gdb 7.4 complain about the unsupported
debug format instead of silently accepting it.
Thanks :-)
