Package: base Severity: important Subject: base: video card works very slowly Package: base Severity: important
Dear Maintainer, *** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** video application is more slowly, than their analog in windows on the same notebook. * What led up to the situation? I think, that video card driver, included in kernel, is slightly inappropriate for this card. It seems to me that 2-3 years ago, on debian 4.0 the same applications works more quick, on the same notebook. It's generally when rendering demanded. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I find in one of forum , that better remove existing driver, but after removing nothing changed, just worsed. can You change driver for my card in next distro. * What was the outcome of this action? same slow rendering, firefox started within about 30-40-50 seconds, but while downloading x-windows, the letters blinked. After downloading X, all images are good, just $ * What outcome did you expect instead? rendering as fast as was few years before, on old distros. At least, TORQS racing game was playable before, and I didn't wait while firefox loaded. works slowly even in ICEWM , and even in clear X-windows. *** End of the template - remove these lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.6 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Dear Maintainer, *** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.6 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
