I would ignore that second patch, since 1) Ubuntu doesn't use it, and they seem happy, and 2) the submitter of the patch may just be implementing the same patch a different way - note that the actual fix from Ubuntu did modify _two_ files, and the submitter of the second patch may just have missed that fact by only reading the bug report (since Sam Morris only mentioned one file in his post), and not by looking at my patch (which includes the full two file fix from Ubuntu).
