Machine: Acer Aspire One 725 Processor: AMD C-70 Memory: 4 GB Partitions: / and /home Output of lspci -knn (or lspci -nn): NA Base System Installation Checklist: [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Initial boot: [O] Detect network card: [O] Configure network: [E] Detect CD: [O] Load installer modules: [O] Detect hard drives: [O] Partition hard drives: [O] Install base system: [O] Clock/timezone setup: [E] User/password setup: [O] Install tasks: [O] Install boot loader: [O] Overall install: [E] Comments/Problems: Configure network: - recognition of Ethernet and WLAN card is correct. LAN card would need non-free firmware (not offered since not found on net - not invested much time in that). - WLAN installed, WEP authentication passed, IP assigned, setup of LAN via DHCP failed! (in another try WLAN was configured manually, but it didn't work either). Clock/timezone setup: - fails because of missing network connection, manual setup not offered (?) Overall install: - touchpad works only in first few screens (had to try how many actually) - after installation is finished and system reboots, grub is started, OS selected, boot process starts, after /dev filesystem is populated, screen gets corrupted (no matter whether desktop packages are selected during the installation or not) and system hangs. System is unresponsive to any key.
