I found another source for a patch to get a separate bitcoin-qt package
via <URL: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=74462.0 >.  The Ubuntu
PPA <URL: https://launchpad.net/~bitcoin/+archive/bitcoin > got a
working version.  Looking at that source I suspect it would be useful to
pick a few fixes for various issues from there.
