I think I've solved the problem. Wrong ownership on the record files. The ownership was root.daemon on both record files (/var/spool/uptimed/records and /var/spool/uptimed/records.old).
I changed them to daemon.daemon. Now everything works as expected. But I've never found why and how these files got their wrong ownership. No entry in any logfile or bash history. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [email protected]
