This sounds strange to me, since /var/log/zope2.8 directory is part of the zope2.8 package, and the error you reported only happens if this directory doesn't exists. So, could you please confirm me that *you* removed that directory manual (intentionally or by mistake) and this is not a problem about the packaging? In this case, we can close this bug report.
