Hi,

I saw at debian.org that you feel you don't have the time needed to
maintain the toolchain-source binutils and gcc package. I might be
interested in helping out depending on the amount and resources of
work needed.

I'm maintaining the toolchain-source package used to generate
cross-compilers. The native versions of gcc and binutils is maintained
by others, but we try to keep the two in sync by generating the
toolchain-source source from the native gcc source.

The main thing that needs to be done right now is to move to gcc 4.0.
This should be done by getting the gcc-4.0 source package to compile
for cross targets and supply the gcc-maintainers with patches for
that.

After that is done, there is quite a few bugreports that should be fixed:

I am working profesionally with compiler development so I am familiar
with that kind of tools and support.

Please let me know if and how I can help out.

Ok, that seems managable. I'll do it if you're willing to help me get
started and pointed in the right direction. Required tools and so on...
Also, any logs and documentation (or pointers to) of what has been done
and what is planned would be apreciated. Addresses to people that I'll
need to get in touch with would also be nice. To sum up, take every
ounce of information you have and drop it on my head.
