No, I've tried in multiple environments (default xfce, xfce + xmonad, gnome) and was unable to reproduce the problem. Could you try it with another desktop environment? I've seen a commit [1] related to the widget layout code. It talks about layout issues when playing audio files, but maybe there are some more problems with that code. It'd be great if you can also test if the problem persists with this patch applied.
