I see. The problem is to determine what is a wrong size then. For instance, GPG signature will only grow with time so this value would need to be adapted from time to time (not a big deal, the evolution is not too fast). Also it seems several other factors can apply. I have 2 examples without gpg signature which are of respective size: 8414 and 17150 bytes. > > So, instead of simply removing the check, I would much prefer to > increase the current value to a more reasonable value considering gpg > signatures and such. I don't think the mailing list software should do this check. If the goal is to avoid spam then it should be handled by an antispam. If a spammer managed to send a subscribe message and reply to the confirmation message, it can certainly reply without adding text and then once subscribe it can send big messages without problem. Spammers are best handled by having moderation of messages or by using an antispam I think. > > Can you check if 8192 would work for you? Unfortunetely no it doesn't. It seems in my case it should be at least 18000 bytes (I'd go up to 20000 at least to be safe). Best regards, Thomas
