I meant : the -l LAT:LON option... as there are obviously other -l options which don't work, like -l gnome-clock . Also, note that you may save the latitude and longitude in a ~/.config/redshift.conf file. For instance, mine (Paris) : ; The location provider and adjustment method settings ; are in their own sections. [manual] lat=48.530344 lon=2.250073 I suggest to check upstream report https://bugs.launchpad.net/redshift/+bug/868904 which discusses other workaround as installing goeclue-hostip, etc. Hope this helps.
