Yes, I'm surprised when it actually breaks like this... And after asking some Chinese users of F18 they said it's very hard to get it work, sadly. It seems to be quite difficult to deal with current situation after my checking into details of the whole stack because, ibus 1.5 series depends extensively on gobject technology, but due to the nature of input method - it need to work with all reasonable combination of the libraries/applications, we may need to patch everything to make it actually work for every certain situations (think about Sid, experimental and Ubuntu). I have verified that current git master does not work on Ubuntu Raring at all, it just throw out tons of errors and eventually crashes. This is not something wanted, and I don't think fixing it in this way is feasible. A possible solution is to revert everything back to ibus 1.4.2 series and keep supporting it, and it will be supported by mainstream distribution maintainers until ibus upstream release a reasonable version. If you agree then I can start doing it. An alternative solution is to try to fix as much as possible, but I bet users will suffer.
