Turns out, it *is* related to the eventfd bug. What happens is, syslog-ng tries to register an event, but that doesn't work, and instead of aborting, it goes and and tries to post that event, which results in a segfault. Since ivykis can now fall back to $whatever, the event registration succeeds, and all is well. I reproduced the original issue on gabrielli, and after fixing the eventfd bug, I could not reproduce the crash anymore, either.
