Package: util-linux
Version: 2.20.1-5.3
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/share/man/man8/mkfs.8.gz

We see
       fs-options
Filesystem-specific options to be passed to the real filesystem
builder. Although not guaranteed, the following options are
              supported by most filesystem builders.

but then there are none. Unless you mean
       -V, --version
       -h, --help
       -V, --verbose
Anyway it is very confusing.

By the way, there are two -V's !!

And --verbose doesn't work!
# mkfs --verbose /dev/sdd
mkfs.ext2: invalid option -- '-'

But --version does!
