You should be able to boot the current version with the extra kernel
parameter 'nomodeset', but this will disable accelerated graphics.

Once you have booted successfully, try upgrading
linux-image-3.2.0-4-686-pae to version 3.2.39-2, which is currently in
unstable.  This has later versions of all the DRM/KMS graphics drivers.
