Hi Hans-Christoph,

I think we can all agree here that the freeze policy can be frustrating sometimes. But as it has been discussed in the past, it's the current situation we have live with in Debian. There is definitely room for improvement, but right now during freeze is the wrong time to discuss or change it.

I highly encourage to put your efforts on the version in unstable and also create a version for wheezy-backports. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's already possible to upload to packages into wheezy-backports. And with the new, better integration of wheezy-backports [1], installing packages from there is now even more comfortable.

I'm sorry for the frustration you have had with the current release process and I certainly didn't mean to take the package out of your hands, I was solely focusing on fixing RC bugs for Wheezy. The sooner we have squashed all of these, the sooner we can look forward to Jessie and an actually unfrozen unstable.

Cheers,

Adrian
