Thanks for working on it, zigo. I subscribed to the list, and now understand where to submit bug reports for bleeding-edge OpenStack Debian packages.
Regarding the proposed OpenStack 2013.1-1 install, the Debian host is now running the 3.8 experimental kernel with upgraded system packages from the sid and experimental repos. The initial DevStack deployment was on Debian running the 3.2 wheezy kernel at the time. I placed a note on the web site to clarify this. I prefer upgrading to re-imaging Linux whenever possible. It worked on Debian and CentOS on this dual-boot x86_64 host, and I was able to upgrade Debian squeeze from a 2.6 to a wheezy/sid 3.2 kernel and system packages on sparc64-smp.
