Thank you for reporting this bug. And sorry, for the outage, that you've
suffered.


First of off, did the configuration setup recover after LIO was started
back again?

I see from the logs that you also have a kernel upgrade in progress.
Unrelated to this bug report, but it'd be more desirable to have the new
modules run effective.

Regarding the debconf interface, I am not very sure. Implementations
should be able to accommodate the unattended use cases too. But what
you've requested is also correct. With a prompt not present to warn, we
can run into problems like these.

I will see if I can prepare something.

PS: This will not make into the Wheezy release give the current freeze.
