Hi! Currently, nginx does not support DSO to load additional modules. Therefore, nginx sources come with many modules. This also means that if we want to add a third-party module to nginx, we need to include it in nginx package. It would be very convenient if dynamic loadable modules were supported in nginx. I don't have the capacity to vouch for one patch in particular, but here is one: https://github.com/hamano/nginx-mod-so I am also aware of this limitation: http://mailman.nginx.org/pipermail/nginx/2011-November/030684.html The ABI problem is not very convenient but a third-party module could match exactly the binary version of nginx. As for the reload problem, I have no clue. I don't expect this problem to be solved soon. I am just registering my interest for a nginx with DSO support.
