The deprecated.patch only changes from the function XKeycodeToKeysym() to XkbKeycodeToKeysym(). Both of those functions are provided by the X server. If fvwm is really at fault here, then the problem that you're seeing should manifest itself no matter which X server you're using. Since it works under xorg (which probably has more user than any other X server), there's probably no way to fix it in fvwm. You should try contacting the maintainer of tightvnc and vnc4server about this. Good luck, Vincent
