This fix was partially, but not completely, helpful; I still have to do: route add default dev tun0
after the connection has been established. BTW, there's a strange error message when connecting: IPSEC SA selected 3des-sha1 Error: an inet prefix is expected rather than "P". VPNC started in background (pid: 24230)...
