Hi,

you are right, there are more ways to handle desktop files in the
autostart directory. I will add a short notice and point to some
alternatives in the future but at the moment i'm thinking most people
know how to deal with this issue.  We have also more than 40 different
window managers in Debian, some of them don't require desktop files in
/etc/xdg/autostart at all to start an application automatically.

So there are a lot of different use cases, but i'm sure people can
figure out alternative ways to disable autostart by themselves without
an additional notice in README.Debian for now.
