Well, I think that "This is all the software that you might reasonably
want to install if you didn't know what it was and don't have
specialized requirements." for optional packages does not quite fit
Octave's rather special user group: people in need of an interpreter
language for numerical copmutations.

Anyway, I don't think that we as Octave maintainers have a hard position
here: we will take whatever FTP-Masters feel is the best solution, but
we would really like to have that fixed before starting to push our
updates from experimental into unstable (hint,hint :))
